L is for Loser

Loser is a book by Jerry Spinelli, it is one of the most well written books I have ever read, I read it first when I was five and have re-read it three times after that. It's a great book because of how it's written, it's really cool because it gives you a million different views of how things are.

Zinkoff, the main character, is kind of a weird kid, he was born with something in his stomach upside-down, so he throws up a lot. He is a nice kid but everybody thinks he's weird, like he's always the last to be picked for every sport and sometimes told the teams are even and told to leave. He is hard to describe really, the last time I read the book was last year so i don't remember the book to well, only the really significant ones that i cant say or else I'd ruin the book. If some one asked me what my favourite book is I'd have to say Loser, I didn't think it would be my favourite book when I looked at it just because of the title, so if you don't like being sad don't read this!

Life Lesson: You don't know how some one's life is at home, even if you think you do, so make their life better when they come to school

J is for Jolly Jumpers :P

Today my blog is going to be on the most entertaining toy of all time... JOLLY JUMPERS!!! As you can tell, Stephane Dion agrees with me on this one, he is a huge supporter of Jolly Jumpers and thinks that they are the best investment if you have a small baby... or your married to Stephane Dion. I know a lot of people who used to have Jolly Jumpers, my friend had one attached to a doorway, but it was screwed into the actual cement, so there's still a hook there for the Jolly Jumper, so we see who can hang of the longest and we actually cracked the doorway.
I never really had a jolly jumper, I've only ever watched people play in them, they are kind of like personal safety trampolines and a jail mixed together. Like if a little kid (or Stephane Dion) is mad or getting on your nerves then you just put them in this jolly jumper, lock them in and let them jump their worries away, I mean it's like tv.
Life Lesson: Don't get rid of kids by locking them in front of the tv in a jolly jumper, it makes them stupid!

I is for Ice

Ice, icicles, ice cubes, ice sculptures, ice slides, all this beautiful ice!!! Ice is so cool, you look at it and you either see through it, or you see a rainbow of shiny colours, in the winter, it consumes everything! The side walk, the driveway, and on the roads, everywhere there is wet, there is ice, some think this a nuisance, but without it, there would be no hockey, skating, hockey, figure skating, or hockey! I mean, wouldn't that be terrible!?!

Anyways, let's talk about ice cubes. Ice cubes are my favourite food, (next to croutons of course) they are so yummy, the only thing i don't like about them is that the melt really quickly, so you need to make a lot of ice cubes or else your going to run out. Fun fact: WHEN YOU BUY A FRIDGE IT COMES WITH AN ICE CUBE TRAY!!! How awesome is that?!? Fun fact over. I actually learned this while working on this house in Hamilton which we bought and are fixing up which I might tell you about in a future (say future in a really creepy way just to be cool) blog, we bought this fridge for the upstairs and it had an ice cube tray in it so... yeah, that's how I found that out.

The one thing i don't like about ice is when people ice their snowballs and then throw them at you because that really hurts...

Life Lesson: Don't ice snowballs before you throw them at me maybe (you know it took me six tries to spell maybe right!!!) other people like Ethan... just not me :(

WAIT!!! I FORGOT TO TELL WHO'S BLOG I COMMENTED ON!!! Ok it's on Marcus' Blog

H is for the Hunger Games

I liked The Hunger Games, I really did, it actually was one of those books that you just can't put down... after PART ONE! The whole first half of the book is this: "There's a hole in the fence here here here and here, but this one is so close to home I almost always enter here." or "My sister has a goat named Lady, she bought it from some guy who has goats but this was cheap cause it was sick so we brought it home and made it better and now we make CHEESE!!!" and "My sister has this cat that she took up off the street and it's crazy and I hate it but it turns out that it's a natural mouse catcher so we kept it". As I said, skip the first half, read the second half. My sister read it a while ago and said that it was kind of like Twilight, which I suppose means bad, because it was in one of those disappointed tones in which she said it.

OK, here it is, this is what i really think about the book: the first half, terrible, the second quarter, good, the last bit, terrible, I mean if you cut out all the bad parts there would be like fifty pages to read if not less. It actually took like three weeks to get through one chapter of the first half, it was so boring i had to force myself to read it, I never have to do that, ever.

Life Lesson: Don't judge a book by it's cover :P (it looked OK but it wasn't really)

G is for Guns

Guns, useful, harmful, good idea, bad idea, safe, dangerous, reassuring, scary. Guns are all of these things, would we be better of if everybody had them? Would we be better of if nobody had them? Kids our age are being told that guns are fun, they are being made into toys, Paintball Guns, B-B Guns, Nerf Guns, Laser Tag Guns, every one of those is meant for shooting other people with to have fun. Are they fun? Yes. And that's why it's such a problem, I'm not saying that they should be banned or anything, I mean, I love Laser Tag, B-B Guns, and Paintball but they are sending out a bad message saying that it's okay to shoot other people, even if they are just toys, not that long ago I thought that it would be fun to run down a driveway being shot at by a B-B Gun, and it was, isn't that a weird thought, shoot at me while I run away, I mean it's crazy, but it's fun.

Life Lesson: Guns don't kill people, crazy people with guns kill people :P

F is for Felowship of the Ring

FELLOWSHIP of the

The Fellowship of the Ring is a good book by J.R.R. Tolkien. I decided to write my blog about it because I was writing my blog and i couldn't decide on a topic for F, so I picked up my book and started reading, the person beside me asked what I was reading and I said, "Fellowship of the Ring" and that's where I got my idea. If you haven't read The Hobbit than you wouldn't understand this book, so it might not seem to good. The movies, more often called The Lord of the Ring are so cool, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Return of the King, and The Two Towers are the three movies, if you've seen any of them or read the books, then leave a comment saying what you liked best about them.

In the book Bilbo, the main character of The Hobbit, who has all these adventures pretty much disappears and leaves to go who knows where, and he leaves Frodo, his pretty much inherited son, this ring, (which makes you disappear when you put it on) an unmarked perfect gold ring. So it turns out that Gandalf, Bilbo's friend, has found out that the ring is extremely evil and must be destroyed, the only way being casting it into the Pits of Doom in Mordor (where the enemy is rising again and searching for the ring). which makes this book pretty epic and a really good read, it's this thick though [ ] so for those of you who don't like books bigger than this [ ] it might not be for you, but there are more than one book in it so you can buy the books ^^^^^ that are that thick instead, but if you haven't read the Hobbit i wouldn't advise reading this because it has a lot of references to it.

Life Lesson: Read the first book of the series first :P

E is for Elastic Bands

For the win, my blog is on elastic bands, yes elastic bands, everybody loves them, for every reason imaginable, number one being, THEIR JUST PLAIN AWESOME!!!!! Anybody, even if they have the shortest attention span ever, has spent at least an hour straight just playing with an elastic band. Whoever made this simple yet genius invention is AWESOME!!! You can stretch them you can shoot them you can do everything imaginable with these things. There are elastic band guns, HUGE elastic band balls, elastic chains, it's the all in one amazing tool! There is only one downside to them, besides their effect on the environment, the fact that babies can choke on them, and how when you wrap them around your hand it cut's of the circulation therefor killing that limb making it fall of... The only downside is that when you go to shoot them and they break, it hurts your fingers soooooo much!!! I mean, it's like an elastic band hitting being snapped and hitting your fingers, oh wait... Anyways, that's the reason i like elastic bands so much! :D

Life Lesson: Elastic bands are really really cool. :D
